The Best Selling electric fireplace is the 50 inch Touchstone Onyx in Black.
As shown, it is also available in Ivory and with a Mirror finish. This is one of the first wall-mounted fireplaces we reviewed and it is still a standard which we use for comparison of others.
It has been an Amazon bestseller for a long time with very good reason. It does its job really, really well. It creates a cozy ambience and soothing effect, with great flame effects, while providing a little extra heat if needed.
The flame effects are outstanding. In fact we went through over 60 reviews and not a single person complained about “fake looking” flame effects. That is pretty the outstanding.
As noted previously, it comes in three colors black, white or mirror finish. Be aware the front of each is glass and it is reflective. We don’t care to see reflections on the fire, and for that reason ruled out the mirror finish and took care to place ours out of direct sunlight. If you look at the image above, you can see reflections, though I guess some would like that effect. This electric fireplace heater has clean modern lines. It is very fashion forward and will be a welcome focal point in almost any decor.
As is befitting an Amazon bestseller, the buyer ratings and reviews were outstanding. In fact in our full review when we did the pros and cons section it was very difficult to find ‘cons’ on this fireplace.
There are other electric fireplaces that may do one thing or another better but you will pay a higher price. One reason this fireplace is a best seller is that as a package, it does all things a fireplace is supposed to do very well – good looks, nice flame effect, and good heat.
The Touchstone 50” wall mounted electric fireplace is a great combination of value and function at a very reasonable price point. We happen to love the clean contemporary styling cues. If you want soothing, cozy mood and ambiance, this fireplace will fit the bill and nudges ahead of the competition at the low to mid-range price point.

This is a corner electric fireplace, the Overland 1805096COM TV stand by Ameriwood. Corner electric fireplace TV stands serve several functions. They can keep your TV and electronics organized without taking up much wall space and completely dominating a room. watching some TV with the fire going is very relaxing.
The finish is a dark espresso. Notice the faux stone finish border surrounding the fire place. That is usually found in more expensive TV stands.
This space saver corner TV stand will handle a flat screen on top up to 50″ wide and 55 lbs in weight. You can’t really go much wider because you will hit the walls in the corners. It offers 5 shelves to keep your AV components, books, DVDs and any thing else.

Northland Wall Mounted Electric Fireplace
This is a wall mounted electric fireplace. We have not yet done a comprehensive review on yet. What follows is a quick look pointing out some features and benefits – not our usual comprehensive review. We wanted to wet your appetite. (We have added this fireplace to our review ‘To Do’ list).
The Northwest 42 inch 80-2000A-42 has received generally great reviews by owners 4.3 out of 5 stars. This has a modern contemporary look and has a modern aesthetic appeal. Notice that the media bed is NOT the standard log set, but rather ‘fire and ice’ clear (plastic) crystals. This fun aspect is you can change out the crystals to any color you want and match any mood with your favorite colors.
The flames are adjustable for different levels of brightness as well as the flame effects can be switched between a LED amber or blue flame (fire and ice). There are three flame color settings – orange, blue and orange and blue together. They use energy efficient LED lighting that pretty much lasts forever. The heater is pretty standard and claims to heat up to a 400 square foot room. It has settings of high and low and you can just watch the flames with no heat on. Comes with a remote control and is very easy to use.
It had easy to follow directions on how to mount it on several types of wall surfaces.

Recommended Electric Fireplace Accessories
There are 3 accessories you may want to consider, the first for added functionality, the second for added aesthetics and pleasure. The third recommendation, cord covers, are essential for wall mounted fireplaces. Otherwise you may see a dangling wire in the middle of your wall.
1. Consider Electrical Socket Protection. Safer Socket has five tiny thermostats strategically placed inside the unit monitor the temperature of the plug to make sure it is operating at a safe temperature. 2. Add Fire Crackle Sound. The sound effect of fire crackling is only available on very high end fireplaces, but we have you covered. 3. Wire Covers. Wires and cables dangling from your electric fireplace can really detract from the effect? This Cord Cover Kit makes it a snap to hide wires. It’s very easy to install and can be painted to blend seamlessly into any wall.
